Frequently Asked Questions

What Insurances Do You Accept?

Your initial consultation will always be free which is the perfect time for our medical providers to determine whether PRP or BMAC Stem Cells is right for you. Most insurances do not cover Regenerative Medicine, PRP or Stem Cell treatments and as such, we are only able to accept Workman’s Compensation and No-Fault insurances. For those who have to pay out-of-pocket, we find that the cost of treatment is usually less than insurance deductibles and/or surgery co-pays. We also offer the option of interest-free financing in 4 easy installments over 6 weeks through Square Afterpay. Please call (808) 556-6152 or visit www.stemcellandwellness.com for more information.

What Is The Difference Between PRP And BMAC Stem Cells?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections harness the healing power of your own blood. Platelets, rich in growth factors, are isolated from your blood sample through a machine that concentrates the PRP which is then injected into the injured tissue or joint to promote healing and regeneration.

Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) Stem Cell injections harness the healing power of your own mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) through a minimally invasive procedure wherein a small amount of regenerative autologous stem cells are extracted from the bone marrow in the back of your hip. The extract is then concentrated via centrifugation and then injected into the injured area to stimulate healing and regeneration. Generally speaking, BMAC Stem Cell Therapy best applies to more advanced types of arthritis and/or tissue damage.

How Much Does A PRP Injection Cost?

Normally, PRP costs $750 per injection. This includes the process of drawing the patient’s blood, processing the cells through a machine and injecting the PRP.

How Much Does A BMAC Stem Cell Injection Cost?

Normally, BMAC Stem Cell Treatment costs $3500 per injection. This includes the process of extracting the bone marrow, processing the cells in a special machine and injecting the concentrate.

Why Does BMAC Stem Cell Treatment Cost More Than PRP?

BMAC Stem Cells are harvested from your bone marrow in the back of the hip, usually with the help of an X-ray machine for precision. It is a minimally invasive but a more technically demanding process compared to PRP.

Are Toxins Medical Treatments?

Yes, toxins like Botox and Jeuveau are considered medical treatments, so a doctor, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant will perform the procedure.

Do Toxins Require Downtime?

No, toxins like Botox and Jeuveau are minimally invasive treatments that does not require downtime. Patients can resume their daily routine immediately after the treatment.

How Long Do Tox Results Last?

Visible results can last up to 4-6 months, but follow-up treatments are needed to maintain the best results.

Will Toxins Make Me Look Frozen?

No, toxins like Botox and Jeuveau should not make you look frozen if it is administered by a skilled injector. The right dose and preserving movement in the surrounding muscles will allow for expression.

Can Toxins And Fillers Be Reversed?

Although the terms “toxins” and “facial fillers” are commonly used interchangeably, they are not the same thing. If too much of a toxin like Botox or Jeuveau is used, the effects are not reversible. However, you and your medical provider can determine whether there are any cosmetic solutions to balance out the impact of mistaken tox treatments.

Unlike toxins, too much volume resulting from overuse of facial fillers can be reversed in many cases. Doctors can use Hyaluronidase to precisely target the undesired effects and reverse the impact of too much facial or cheek volume by dissolving the hyaluronic acid gel facial fillers. Often times partial dissolution of excess filler will resolve the issue; other times complete dissolution of the fillers will be necessary to allow re-injection into proper anatomic locations.
